Raquel Kreipe
Long-time HPS print judge and honorary member Frank Kreipe invites HPS members for the West Gray Art Walk on Saturday, May 15 from 2–8 p.m. His wife Raquel will be the featured artist at the Texas Tuscan Furniture Design Store at 1302 West Gray, Houston, TX 77019. $5 for all-day trolley service and door prizes, food and refreshments will be served. HPS members Laszlo Perlaky and Lexi Nemeth received the Mark Chapman Artistic Excellence Award for their exhibited portfolio photographs (Lexi's "Drops", "Reflections" Laszlo's "Wabi-Sabi", "Ripple Dance", "On Wings", and "Monochromatic Vision") at the Fayetteville juried art show on May 1 and 2, 2010.
Lexi Nemeth & Don Hill - Honored with Placings at The Methodist Hospital
Congratulations to HPS members Lexi Nemeth and Don Hill. Lexi won 2nd place with her color photograph "The Whole World in a Drop" and Don had Honorable Mention with "The Sentinel" at The Methodist Hospital organized juried art contest with the theme of "water". The winning image will be on permanent display at Methodist Hospital's new Outpatient Center.
Laszlo Perklaky - 3rd Place at Featherfest
Congratulations to HPS member Laszlo Perlaky who received an Honorable Mention Prize with his "Legwings" (American Avocets on North Jetty) image at the FeatherFest 2010 Photo contest. His photograph was published in the Galveston County Daily News April 4, 2010 issue.
Laura Rossi & Laszlo Perlaky - 1st & 3rd Place at Featherfest
Congratulations to HPS Members Laura Rossi (1st place) and Laszlo Perlaky (3rd place) for placing in the Featherfest Photo Contest (3rd week). The photos are published in the Galveston County Daily News and available for viewing online at galvestonfeatherfest.com.
Laszlo Perlaky - Large Format Exhibition
Congratulations goes out to HPS member Laszlo Perlaky. The New England Large Format Photographic Collective (NELFPC) accepted 3 of his large format (4x5) film based photographs for the 3rd Large format exhibition benefitting the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center (Middletown, CT).
Lexi Nemeth - 3rd Place at Featherfest
Congratulations goes out to HPS Member Lexi Nemeth who won 3rd Place during the Featherfest 2010 four-week long weekly photo contest (2nd week) and was published in the The Galveston County Daily News, March 16, 2010 front page, section B, "Our County."
Photography on Display
Congratulations goes out to HPS Members Don Hill, Lexi Nemeth and Laszlo Perlaky who all have photos that will be on permanent display in The Methodist Hospital's newly built Outpatient Center in the Texas Medical Center. Don and Lexi have earned "special honors" to be announced.
